Fed: Gov't to provide millions more to keep open ABC centres=3

A number of the 241 centres could be viable under different arrangements, Ms Gillard said.

"The government also believes these centres could represent an opportunity to gain
greater diversity in the childcare market."

Government support will also allow the 21 centres owned and leased by the Department
of Defence to continue operating while new management arrangements are determined.
